Chasing light ✨
Light has always been one of my biggest inspirations, from the subtle changes in hue as seasons change to the unique texture and shapes of cast shadows. If you've been anywhere with me, I have likely stopped to take pictures of the lighting or shadows in a space. These photos often end up sitting in my camera roll or the occasional Instagram story, so this is my official homage to the light I've collected.
Textures
I love a good texture report. I love ambiguous shadows and how objects and perspectives manipulate light. I once read a quote about how shadows are such a treat—the sun is millions of miles away but can interact with something right before you, creating unique but temporary textures and shapes.
Places
One thing about me is I take lighting in my personal space very seriously and love it when other spaces do, too. I am a huge advocate for small, warm lights and bright windows. You will NEVER catch me turning on the big light! Here are a few photos of my home and spaces that showcase my ideal natural light situation.
Things
I love capturing and creating shadows of shapes and typography. This theme is often a part of my work when art directing or creating social content.
